We are following all CDC COVID-19 guidelines.
Porter’s House offers both an after school program during the school year as well as a summer program during summer vacation for youth ages 5-12. We provide a structured environment for youth to learn and practice various social, emotional, and life skills. We follow a daily schedule as doing so tends to create a sense of safety and security for many children. We allow time for snacks and checking in with one another, schoolwork/intellect building, mindfulness/relaxation, physical activities, life skills, and free play. We also support children in discussing and processing current events (i.e. social justice issues, COVID-19, etc.). Throughout the program day, children are encouraged to use learned skills to problem solve as well as to support and learn from one another.

In everything we do at Porter's House, we work on skill building. Social, Emotional, Behavioral, Life, or Communication... we work on them all! We will NURTURE your child to see what skills we need to TEACH them and then make your child aware of appropriate times to IMPLEMENT those skills. We will be sure to promote a safe and respectful environment in which to work on these skills.
